Didn't wanna deal with it in the winter so we figured to get it done now. Everything came out great. Just need a few last touch ups and its done.
Here's the rundown of what got done, obviously new paint, new kitchen all around(floor, walls, table, appliances ect.) Front room, New front door, closet got knocked down, and i moved the walkway over and added the bar window where the walkway use to be. Got rid of carpet and added new hardwood, resurfaced the floor upstairs. Built new railing, new ceiling fans all around. Tons more but I cant remember. If it wasnt for maria it never wouldve got done as fast as it did. True love is a girl who will pick up a hammer and help you destroy the house :laughing
Here's how it was

sorta, still already mounted tv in this, Before it was a big ugly tv stand and the cube 27" tv

Then the demo began

and reconstruction began

Built new shelves for dvd ect

Then ran into the problem of the old hardwood under the carpet being in such bad condition there was nowhere to go other than to put new flooring down. The guys who did it where foking rock stars, great job and had it done in 1 friggin day!

And finally after a lil over a onth we got done and finally get to sit back and relax.
Finished kitchen walls

And front room

Looking good. I assume that you were doing the job yourself. It is a lot of work, but in the end nice to sit back and enjoy and say "I did that."
I finished a complete re-do of my house this past April. The most fun was making the wainscoting for the dining room. When I finished that job I counted 121 separate pieces of wood! I went through the house replacing baseboard in all rooms and making crown molding for most rooms. When I finished the kitchen I counted 18 separate miter cuts.
I did all of the work myself except for laying the tile in the kitchen, laying the carpet and making the plantation shutters we put on most windows. My old knees just had enough after putting down the wood flooring in the dining room, entry and a hall.

Thanks man, yea it was all a do it myself type thing. The only thing i had done professionally is the floor and doors install.
Putting down the kitchen tile isnt to bad. Its jus time staking. The hardest part was getting the walls right and sanding everything. After that it kinda flew by. Oh and painting the high ceilings was a nightmare, especially the red in the kitchen since the hgihest point is close to 20ft high.
There;'s nothing like doing it yourself though. |

I'm in the middle of a remodel myself :)
I'm painting and refurbing my ENTIRE home......ever since I got my home back in a recent divorce, I've been itching to redo everything my way :)
Here are the before shots of my living room taken about a month ago......last night I spent about 4 straight hours painting my living room, and got almost 2 walls done (a lot of shelving and trim work on the one long wall).
I'll post the "after" pics tomorrow......
