| Does anyone know where to get a catback exhaust system for this thing? |

| I'm not sure any exist. You may have to go custom! |

| Is that expensive? |

Like everything else...it depends. xcaliber has a custom exhaust on his 02(?) MDX. I think the exhaust is called Hayame or something liek that. Do you have a dual(04-06) or single (01-03) exhaust? Singles should be less expensive. What are your goals in changing the exhaust? |

| I just want to free up a little power, and maybe get a sexy roar out of it. I have an 05. |

You won't get any power out of it unless you get a CAI and headers, but you can get some better exhaust notes. Do a search on xcaliber's posts for pics, etc. |

| You definitely have to go custom. Buy any mufflers you like. Hopefully you dont pick a ricey one. Then get a muffler shop to add on larger diameter piping from the cats all the way to the new mufflers. |

buy two Magnaflows mufflers (or other brand), just need to specify the inlet and outlet diameter not sure what the diameter is on the 05 MDX. Muffler shop will cut out the stockers and slip on the new ones. Have them weld them so that theres no possibility of a leak later on. The mufflers retail around $100.00 - 150.00. Keep the tips from the stock exhaust I like 'em and they fit the bumper well.
this should be regarded as a sound only mod.
I don't forsee any power increase. Like I said, its only going to affect the sound. Enjoy 3.5l rumble
Cat removal is not recommended, the costs (and enviromental impact) probably won't yield any benefit. Just a crappy sounding suv. Many members have said that the stock system does flow very well from the factory |
