I doubt it is in the remote. I don't carry the remote and i don't have a problem driving my '05. I also see the green key with out the remote.

its impossible for a chip to be in the key it self, it looks like a regular honda key.

The key doesn't have to be any bigger than normal for it to contain a chip. They can make them pretty small anymore.

Spend some money to get a copy at Home Depot or Lowes and see if that key works for ya. ;) :trustme:
Its part of the immobilizer system. Read the manual.

This remote start is universal for all 12-volt vehicles with automatic transmission. You might need a transponder bypass unit in order for this remote start to start your vehicle. The easiest way to find out is to go down to your local hardware store and get a copy made of your ignition key for around $1.00. See if this key will start your vehicle. If it does, than no other parts are needed. If it does not, than this means that your vehicle keys have a transponder in them that tells the vehicle that the key is authentic and it is okay to start. You will need to purchase a transponder bypass unit and install it with the remote start. This unit programs the key code into the remote start so it can start your vehicle. Sorry but because there are so many models of transponders out there, we do not carry them. Most of the times, these are carrying and sold by the person installing the remote start.
