| When I read all of these problems posted, I begin to wonder about the MDX's dependability. During the ML320's first year, it had so many problems (85% above normal) that over 1000 parts were changed out the second year. I realize that the MDX is not in this category, but is the MDX truly a dependable vehicle (comparable to the RX-300)? |

TD, I am sure our fellow MDXers with more ownership experience will chime in, but check out the problem threads on this site.
With a few notable exceptions, the major problems since the vehicle's inception have been the THUD and the Weeping Mirrors, both of which have been addressed by an Acura TSB, albeit a bit late.
You could add wind noise to the equation or a misaligned glove box, but think about it.....that is basically it! I don't think that is too bad for a first year complex vehicle.

It depends upon whether you are referring to design issues or reliability issues. The RX300 was NOT immune to it's first year troubles (take it from someone who has owned both - hesitation shifting from 2nd-3rd, wind noise from rear deflector etc..). Definitely a short list for the RX300 compared to the ML, and it appears that the redesign changes for the MDX are VERY short as well.
In regards to reliability, only time (and Consumer Reports ;) will tell) |

The Thud TSB is located here.
TSBs that aren't located at www.hondacuraworld.com can usually be found in the TSB section of the Problems forum. Click on Problems then click on the TSB section from the main forum screen. You might have to use the drop-down box to select "show all" as some are more than the default-view 30-days old. |
