I purchased a 2006 MDX in the spring and imported it into Canada so I have no warranty. I have 20,000 miles on it. Within two months of purchasing it the drivers heated seat stopped functioning. I was fine thru the summer but now I need to look at it. Does anyone have suggestions of what to check before I take it into a dealer for repairs? My dad is mechanically inclined so any help would be appreciated.
I have been looking for a bug deflector and sunroof deflector. Every site that I have been to so far seems to exclude the 2006 MDX. I get results for 2001-2004 and 2007. But seems to skip the 05/06's.
Third item is the navigation system. Since this vehicle came out of Tennessee it has the US disk in the navigation system. I live in BC and live 20 min from the US border so it works here but as soon as I go a couple hours north it tells me database is out of range. Where can I purchase a Canadian disk from? I don't have an Acura dealer where I live but there is one near by in Washington state.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. |

Welcome to the forum! :D
1 You could check the passenger side fuse box. #14 20A Next thing would be the heat element itself. You got to take off the leather.
2 - Here is a link to the moonroof deflector offered from Acura.
HondaAcuraWorld - Tim is a sponsor here. http://www.hondacuraworld.com/Merch...egory_Code=AMDX
Not sure about the hood deflector.
3 - From the Alpine(Navi) website.
Can my navigation system provide coverage for Mexico or Canada?
Coverage for Canada includes all major metropolitan cities and interconnecting roads within approximately 100 miles of the U.S.-Canada border.
A complete listing of Canadian coverage is available online at: www.acuranavi.com or www.hondanavi.com.
If coverage for northern Canada is required, a gray-labeled "Canada" DVD is available. To purchase this edition, contact the DVD Fulfillment Center at 1-888-549-3798 for Acura or 1-888-291-4675 for Honda. |

| The bug deflector and moonroof deflector have not changed from 04 to 05. |

| Further to dj_mdx's comment, I suspect 2001, 2004 & 2007 are listed because that is when the design changes occurred for the respective years. (i.e. 2001 to 2003 are the same, 2004 to 2006 are the same, 2007 to current are the same). |

| Thanks for all your help. I'll see how dad and I do with the seat this weekend. Does anyone think the seat has premature failure? Or is there any sort of average life of the element? I'm wondering if I persued it with a US Acura dealer if they would help me out as I am suspecting that it may be a large repair bill. |

| Re your question about bug deflector, Acura has one, but I would recommend Form-fit. I purchased one from Tim, but I don't think he sells them anymore as they tend to break during shipping (I initially received the two piece version). Form-fit is smaller, looks better, and is a very easy install. |

OK, so I just had my 2004 MDX into the dealer today because the seat heaters weren't working. Turns out both the seat element and the seatback element are bad.
They want to charge $570 to fix this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found both elements from acuraoemparts for $150 total. So now my question - how hard is it to get the seat apart to replace them? Anybody ever done it??? Any instructions? Help! |

I have an Acura brand bug deflector and sunroof deflector for my 2001 that I took off last winter. They are sitting and collecting dust in my garage. Both are used but in good shape. No cracks or major scratches - just the normal hairline scratches you'd expect from being on the car for a few years. I do not intend to put either back on the car. I'd be happy to sell them. You'll need to replace the double-stick tape that holds the mounting posts to the hood for the hood one. Otherwise I have all the screws and hardware.
I'm not sure how much shipping will cost to Canada from CA. It might be a bit since the bug deflector is going to require a fairly long box. But I'd be happy to get them out of my garage if you want to buy them and pay the shipping costs. $40 plus shipping for the pair?
Hopefully someone here can confirm that the ones for my '01 will fit your year. |
