big dent on the door after an oil change - Click HERE for Original Thread

Went for an oil change about 4 weeks ago. While I was approaching my X, I easily saw a big dent on the driver side door. I thought right away that the door hit the pillar of the hoist when the mechanic was opening the door. I brought this to the attention of the service guy. He called the mechanic and the mechanic denied that he caused it and that he put a foam on the pillar. In the end, they sent my X for a body repair as the paint is cracked. I wasn't happy with the results. The paint is dull. Looked like it didn't have a top coat finish. I can see the spot where the dent was as it wasn't completely flat. There were about 3 short scratches. Haven't brought it up to the dealer's attention after I got my X back after it was repaired. I'm going for a service next week. How do you suggest that I should approach the dealership so they will get this fixed again?

You should of complained as soon as you saw it. Just bring it up again, thats all you can do. They might not even remember it depending on how much time has gone by.

Very true. By waiting you have tacitly accepted the work that was done.

I assume that it was the dealership where the oil was changed???

Tell them you are still not happy with the way it is/
You should have brought it up the second you got it from the repair shop, you should never wait.

It was an Acura dealership. It was taken to the body shop on a Monday and they promised it will be done 2 days later. I made a follow up on Wednesday and they said there is a backlog in the body shop so I won't get it. We are scheduled to drive to Disneyland early Friday morning from Vancouver, BC and I emphasized I need the truck because the hotels have already been booked. I got a call later that I will get it on Thursday. I guess they just rushed the repair and so the poor results. I will still show them the visible crease or imperfections where the dent was. It is visible at an angle. Not so obvious but it is there. I'll see what will happen.
