You are not alone on this. I had three of y four vent tabs broken. For the side vents, the part is relatively cheap--about 20-25. For the center vents, it is a bit more; slightly more than 100.
There is a link that I cannot find right now with pics to show you how to get your side vents out. Basically, there are four tabs (two on each side--top and bottom) holding the assembly in the dash. A flat head screwdriver and a steady hand are needed to pry it out.
If you are replacing the vent assembly, you can do what I did and wait for the part to arrive, break all the louvers out of the old vent, and then it should come out without any prying. But then again, maybe I just got lucky? :) |
