Hi,
Does 2003 MDX Touring have the SH-AWD feature or even AWD?

I am sorry I dont understand your comment on the SH-AWD.
I realized the AWD as soon as I posted it. |

Thank you for a nice article on VTM-4.
One more question ... can I drive safely on wet roads and in snow conditions or do I have to manually engage VTM-4? |

This is all in the manual. Locking the VTM-4 only works below 18 mph and in gears 1,2 and R.
You will most likely never use the VTM-4 lock unless you're really stuck somewhere. |

Yes, you can drive safely on wet roads and in snow conditions with VTM4 in the 2003. It's not as good as teh shawd with Cooperative Vehcile Stability Assist, but it is still very very good.
What's the difference between a really good four wheel drive and a poor four wheel drive? The really good four wheel drive gets you much farther into the woods before you get stuck. So far, that the tow trucks can't reach you.
And no matter what anybody tells you, you still only have four brakes on four wheels with the same contact patch as your mothers Oldsmobile. |
