Hello All,

Brand new owner of a 2005 MDX Touring with Navi (no RES).

I was looking at the AIPHD02ID which, according to the people at Circuit City, works with my System.

Basic installation and setup would be to attach the power to the back of the radio system and leave it hanging from the bottom.

I was wondering if anyone knew of this or has something else that would work and look better. I really don't like the idea of dangling wires.

Thanks for the help, comments, quotes, etc. (if any)

What is it?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new ride!

What is it? IPOD adapter? Maybe if you had some sort of holder for it, it would look ok.

Thanks for the welcome and all....

The AIPD021D is this thing:

http://www.mysimon.com/9015-11684_8-45272444.html

So there is a AUX jack and a serial port with iPod cable for the serial port.

But it's a enclosure and I really don't know if there is anything else I can do to make it look "presentable".

Wanted to see if there was another way to get to use the AUX button and my mp3, without dangling cords/cables/etc.

Thanks.

I wonder if the cables are long enough to be stashed away in the glove a la Mercedes/BMW or in the center vag!na thingy.

I just installed an iPod adapter on my 04 w/Nav. I went with the USA Spec unit (PA11-HON) since it allowed for contol on the steering wheel. I purchased it from www.enfigcarstereo.com - quick delivery and lowest price I could find outside eBay.

I installed the unit using the "Not An Ashtray" method. It was a pain to connect the wired to the back of the radio but I finally got it after using a small mirror to see the positioning. I placed the unit underneath the center console to the right of the shifter. I got the idea from another member on this site - he posted excellent pictures. The unit was held in place using double sided tape.

I ran the wire to the iPod to the section next to the 12V supply next to the "NAT" - didn't want to mess with drilling holes to get it to the armrest. This has worked great for me.
