| hi everyone. i recently traded my 03 CL-S for a 08 MDX tech w/pg. black on black. so far i am still breaking it in so i haven't driven pass 50mph. i was torn between this and the fx35. i feel like i made the better choice. reason for upgrade is because we have a 6 month old son. after evacuating from hurricane gustav in my wife's tsx, we needed more room. btw...i forgot to intro myself. my name is hailo living in new orleans. |

welcome and congrats. The break in process requires no hard braking for 200 miles, no hard acceleration (over 3.5K RPM) and no towing for the first 1000 miles. You can drive over 50 MPH, just don't accelerate very fast. Also remember to follow the MID for the maintiance, don't go by the 3k rule... |

I keep reading posts about a 1000 mile breakin. From what I read in the manual it reads 600miles or 1000 KM's.
Are folks reading something different?
TIA. |

Black on black is an excellent choice. I think manual says 600 miles for break-in. I've pushed it a little further to 1,000 miles break-in on mine. Let me tell you, together with KN filter I can do 0-60 (first initial speed test), I've got 6.6 seconds. Congrats.
BTW. mine is currently at 3,100 miles. |
