I am trying to post a 2 minute video from a DVD. I converted it to mpeg but only want a portion of it.
Any suggestions? |

| get a free MPEG splitter, you can download them and just use the free trial ones |

"MPEG" video could mean video encoded with any one of at least four different codecs, so telling us "MPEG" doesn't tell us anything. DVD video is already MPEG-2, so if you just ripped it and didn't decompress and re-encode (transcode) it, you didn't do any conversion.
For an easy-to-use non-linear MPEG-2 editor, download the trial of Video ReDo. I use this all the time to edit high-definition MPEG-2 program streams. You might be able to do what you need with the trial. It has the advantage of only re-encoding right around the cuts, the rest of the video (everything between the outermost I frames) is untouched.
For something free, and more powerful, but (much) harder to use, look into AviSynth, VirtualDub, and ffdshow (you'll need all three). Be prepared for a steep learning curve. |

| Thanks. I don't know what format it is, but I'll take a look. |
