| Is this a serious question? That part of the country may not be as populated as the Northeast, but it's not like driving through Alaska or something! |

He is talking about the gas shortages in the south east. It's been all over the media lately. I think that the situation is getting much better though.

I live in Jacksonville, FL... primarily the issues we have heard were all through GA (which prices used to be lower than FL but not anymore), Panhandle of FL (which you wont be going), and around the Tampa Bay area... as someone mentioned I believe most of those situations have been resolved. Pricewise right now off 295 (loop around jax from 95) prices are running $3.69 reg $3.92-.99 for premium. I would probably gas up in Hardeeville, SC then you should be good getting through GA (its about 120 miles or so) where the problems were the worst. North FL has not had any issues.... |

Oh, I didn't hear about that around here. That makes more sense, then. |

Heres a story on the shortages.

The story is old history (what else is history but old) and doesn't cover I-95.
My wife and some friends just covered the part between Jacksonville and Hilton Head. No problems along there.
You will turn of I-95 at Daytona. This is not far into Florida. Fill up with gas in South Carolina and this will take you to I-4. One more fillup will take you into Venice.

Prices have been slowly creeping down here in Jacksonville. Not sure if I would push it as G suggests

South of Jax and thru I4 there are notorious tie up's... I would probably suggest Hardeeville then Jax. From Jax to Venice its a good 250 miles so that tank should hold you with room to spare if get hung up in a traffic jam...
Have a safe trip... |
