My wife told me that when she came out to the X after work today, all the windows were rolled down about 2 inches.
She went into work at around 9:00A.M. and came out at around 8:30P.M. The car was sitting outdoors all that time.
And no, she never had the key in the door lock when she locked the car. She just used the remote. I just checked the moonroof and that was closed though.
I know about how you can turn the key once and then turn again and hold to close and open all the windows, including the moonroof. But she never did anything like that at all. She just used the remote to lock the doors.
Has anyone encountered this before? I told her not to forget to tell me every time this happens, but I find this really strange.
I will mention this to the dealer when I take it in for service, as long as this doesn't continue. If this happens again, I'll try to take it in.
But just wanted to check with you guys to see if anyone can think of something that would've made the car do that. Thanks. |

Holding down the unlock button on the keyfob drops the windows and will open the sunroof ...if it's pressed and held then pressed again quickly etc the windows will drop part way down and before the roof starts to open they will all stop... i.e. partially open
My thought ..the wife threw the keys into her bag ( or something like that) and it unlocked the X and started dropping the windows while she was still in keyfob range walking away..but was pressed again soon after so it stopped it from dropping all the way down and opening the sunroof as well... the X would lock back automatically after some time (but not put back up the windows ..that can only be done with the key in the door) so she would still have to unlock it when she came back to it at a later time...the windows will be partially down and sunroof not open... mystery solved ???? :p
Not possessed....just need to be aware of the keyfob and its functions more. |

Yes your X is possessed. Get another one or get another wife.
J/K. Agree with kingmdx. A second button press after hitting the unlock button will partially open the windows. And with the huge keyfob the X has, it's not unlikely for it to be randomly pressed. |

To adequately answer the question of possession, I beleive we need to know the following:
1. Is your X black?
2. Is your wife blonde? |

You guys are awesome. I like that I have a team of X sleuths here. I guess I should've RTFM more carefully. I didn't know about pressing the unlock button on the key fob also controlled the windows as well.
I'll mention this to my wife and thanks again guys!! |
