Has anyone looked into what it takes to get the daytime running lights up and running on the MDX? The Canadian-shipped vehicles are equipped, of course, but some of us Americans think it's a good idea and like to run with some kind of DRL.
On some vehicles it's just a matter of module, relay and/or fuse plug-ins. on others it's at least a re-wire.....
Staying curious!

| Click on the DRL kit link in my sig line for an aftermarket approach that we're happy with. The DRL module for Cdn MDXs is not compatible with the wiring harness on US MDXs (at least for '01s). |

Worm- thanks. Maybe next time I won't be so lazy and search the threads!
Obviously you sent significant time researching the matter, and I add my thanks to others.
In one of your later posts it looks like you changed harnesses...did Pilot provide one in response to the wiring issue?
Finnaly, gotta love the ingenuity of an induction sensor foiled by no wires to be inducted from.....

Ntenna -
Thanks. I had to custom build the harness; Pilot didn't have one to reverse the polarity (and I was unable to find one elsewhere). Like I said in one of those other posts, it took about 30 minutes to do so (after I figured out what I needed to build, how to build it, and tracked down the parts).
The parts to do so were the two 9006 pigtails (from an autoparts store), the four 24k pin connectors (Radio Shack, stereo section), and the heatshrink/wireloom/crimp connectors/etc (Radio Shack or other auto-audio parts store; my connectors were from autotoys.com from a prior project).
I did a fair amount of research on DRLs and looked @ about 6 or 8 possibilities...Pilot's appeared the easiest with the functionality I was looking for (% brightness, no running lights, no splicing)..
If you want/need more info, feel free to email or PM me. |

Thanks, Worm...
Kinda figured that's what you did from the earlier posts.
Will probably do the same myself as we share the same goals (% brightness, etc.).
Thanks for the advice and counsel! |
