My 6 week thoughts- overall, I am pleased, BUT I HAVE NOTICED:

1) my mileage is definitely not 23 miles per gallon after 2100 miles and using only premium fuel, more like 15 mpg city and 20 highway
2) sound system is not great...and I especially don't like the non-availability of shuffle of all 6 cd discs at one time on the random mode
3) maybe I am missing something, but why don't the doors all lock automatically when the car is is gear?
4) again, maybe I am missing something here, but the lock mode on the windows allows all windows to function or the driver to only control the driver window but not the others (so there is no mode where the passenger windows are locked to the passengers but not the driver) and
5) weeping mirrors are all too true.

As mentioned above, I am pleased in general with my MDX, but think the above issues could be improved. I would buy it again.

I have owned my MDX for six weeks too, and it occurred to me over the weekend, that I have never looked under the hood. I test-drove the car, bought it, drove it for 1,600 miles, without checking for an engine. Imagine my surprise when I looked under the hood only to see a plastic box thing. Is this what they are doing to engines these days?

My comments after six weeks:

1. I like not having automatic door locks.
2. There really is a lot of wind noise.
3. The rear windshield wiper switch is hard to get to.
4. What is the purpose of that MPG graph? To tell people your gas mileage goes down while accelerating?
5. I need a cargo tray in back. Smashed pumpkin is hard to get out of the carpet. Why carpet in back anyway?
6. Do only people who own black MDX's notice the weeping mirrors. I got that silver color, and I don't see anything. Maybe after I give the car its first wash, I will see it.
7. Those windshield washer fluid nozzles look funny on the hood.

Overall though, I like the vehicle. I even like the bun warmers which I thought would be worthless.

When I first noticed "weeping mirrors", it was a thick (up to 1") white-residue line streaming down both front doors. (I have Silver as well, and, although not VERY noticeable, once you know where to look, it is impossible to miss it!)

Lately, those lines are "invisible", but my mirrors are now "spraying". 1 to 2 days after a heavy rain or a car wash, I get a "< pattern" water drops and streaks reaching as far back as a door handle and half-way up the front windows.

I will definitely have the TSB fix applied to my car. But, since I waited almost a year for it anyway, I'll wait a few more weeks and have it done at the time of an annual service visit. My car has been at the dealership way too many times this year.

As far as an engine compartment is concerned, I never looked inside in almost a year of ownership. I would not even locate a lever to open it w/o an "extensive" search. :)

You mean with all your thud whining in the past you never opened the hood just to see where it was coming from? Or is it just a Brooklyn thing that opening your hood is considered a form of union busting!:D

It probably has more to do with sound absorption than anything else.

Remery, you are back!!! Thank god!!! For the last couple of months I was actually worried that "THEY" somehow replaced you with a double :) Although, I must admit, I kind of liked him, a part of me was longing for the old times - ANYTHING GOES as far as you abusing me personally, Brooklyn and NYC in general. :)

Anyway, I was partly exaggerating the engine compartment thingy. But, since the last trip to a dealer (almost 3 !!! months!!!!!!!! ago) I did not even "know" I had an engine compartment. ;)
