| Some months ago when my MDX was in for routine service, I asked them to take a look at the noise coming from the moon roof. The problem, I was told, was that the deflector was loose, and they had tightened it. This worked for a while, then the rattling returned. Very annoying. I also began to worry about the damage being done to the paint by the movement of the deflector. So, Saturday I took it off. After cleaning, claying, and lightly polishing, there is still a noticeable outline in the paint. I will have this professionally repaired. Other observations: With the moon roof closed, the truck is much quieter; I did not realize how much noise was coming from the deflector. With the moon roof open, there is much more visible sky than before, which is nice. At highway speeds, the wind noise is noticeably greater, but at lower speeds it is not. I will miss the ability to get ventilation in a light rain by partially opening the roof under the deflector. Consolation is that I think the truck looks sleeker without the deflector. |

| i'd have to disagree... i test drove one with and one without the deflector.. i like it much more WITH one.. no noise at all... there were threads about this before - 5-6 months ago! :) |

I don't want to get rid of mine, but it is loose. How do you tighten it up? I would like to do it myself, but I haven't even noticed how it's put on.
