Help build the "hondacuraworld" web site! - Click HERE for Original Thread

In an effort to better serve you, within a month or so we plan to have a real website up, instead of the inadequate homepage we now use. I can sympathize with a lot of you who think that trying to find me for the first time was like a computer version of "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom"! So now, I need opinions and suggestions from people that matter....YOU! What kinds of things are other sites lacking that you'd like to see? What kinds of things would keep you coming back (online TSBs)? Here are a few of my thoughts, to which your suggestions would be greatly appreciated:

1. Online accessory installation instructions available for download in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format.

2. For our sales department, available vehicles and what's coming in.

3. Pictures of installed accessories, using YOUR photos. Instead of those corporate photos that we've all seen, I'd like to use pictures of you with your vehicle, with a "Joe Smith, pictured here with his recently installed roof rack" (for example), and your suggestions on installation from your experience. These photos would be used in all areas of the site, getting you involved and giving you a place to show off your pride and joy!

Help me design a site that you'll be proud of!
Tim: What is the possibility of linking Acura MDX Technical Bulletins. Such as when owners have a problem with the "4 & 5" radio buttons or we hear a "thud" we can search Acura's bulletins so we know we're not going crazy. It also helps so that way we can be a bit more educated when we bring our cars in for service. Also, what is the possibility of having access to technical specifications of stock parts (e.g. electrical like radio, bulbs. etc). Also, is the owners manual available as a .pdf (I have seen this on the Ford site)?
Well, right now upon searching the Acura database, there are currently 7 service bulletins released for the MDX, two telling about new tools (all Acura vehicles), three related to PDI (pre-delivery inspection), one about reman parts exchange (all Acura vehicles), and the last about correct brake disc resurfacing. So, right now, they wouldn't be of much help.

The issue of radio specs, and part specifications in general has been one we've tangled with before. The parts listings give us the ratings on just about all of the bulbs, but as far as any technical specs, per se, on anything else, the shop manual is the best resource for that, and it's the one the dealers use.

Acura doesn't currently use .pdf format that I am aware of, we would have to do the scanning ourselves. Trouble is, since they are printed through Helm, I don't know whose permission I would need to do it. But, anything is possible if you try, right?
It would be nice to be able to order online, in a secure fashion.

Could you link your current website below to hondacuraworld.com instead of the page you have?

http://hometown.aol.com/hondacurawo...e/business.html

It took me several days to find this in another post here. Also, could you give us an estimated date when your new website will be available, which you could also list on your current page?

Suggestion: Please force the width of your existing and new website to be 800 pixels. This is probably the best and most common resolution to use without having to scroll to see all of your information. (That's what I experienced.)

Thanks and good luck!

The check for the new http://www.hondacuraworld.com website was sent out today, the launch date will be March 1st. It's been in the planning stages for months, but thanks to the overwhelming support of the good folks on this site, it will finally become a reality! Here are some of the features that will be available at launch:

1. Downloadable instructions for all accessories that the site will be selling (in .pdf format).

2. We will feature accessories for ALL Acura products, as well as Honda Insight, Odyssey, and S2000. We will continue to offer free shipping for all accessories, and expect our prices on the other accessories to be as good as you've become accustomed to. These may not be all available right away, but we'll do our best.

3. Secure online credit card ordering (about time, huh?).

4. Your pictures of your MDX with accessories installed (hopefully I'll get some).

5. The monthly specials will continue to be an acuramdx.org exclusive, and not advertised on the site.

More is up and coming, and as always your input is the key to future happenings. Worst part about this site is that I won't be able to have fun talking to those of you that I've had the pleasure to deal with when you need to place an order. But, I'll still be only a phone call away!
