| A few ways it's better, many not . . . . the X certainly has better styling. But I wish the X had a similar roofrack. |

I saw the Pilot at Cobo Hall in Detroit today and I was hoping to like it so that It would become my wife's replacement for her minivan.
I was very unimpressed by the exterior styling.
I wish Honda would have allowed an inside look of the Pilot,especially since it is scheduled for sale
this summer.
The interest in the MDX was still evident at the Auto Show, with numerous onloookers and people getting in and out of the vehicle. |

| Since the Pilot is based on the MDX I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest someone try the roof rack from the Pilot on the MDX to see if it is compatible.... |

| what's wrong with the acura roof rack i actually like it over the other ones out there like the ml320's do you guys think it's easier to clean the top or easier to load items on top??? :D |

While the MDX roof rack may look good, it is virtually useless for carrying variety of loads because it is not adjustable. Also, it generates significant amount of noise since the front cross bar is positioned too close to the sunroof (at least on 2001 MDXs).

I investigated this option with Honda Odyssey roof rack (it is similar to the one on the Pilot). Unfortunately it was not compatible with the MDX. While it was the correct size for the MDX roof and had the right type of mounting hardware, the mounting location was not the same. So, the only feasible alternative that I had was to install Yakima tracks and roof rack on my MDX.
As you mentioned, maybe the Pilot rack will be compatible. Will have to wait and see. |
