| I know Alpine makes the Nav. unit...but who makes the DVD player? Can you buy this alone? What is the model number? |

Not sure what is meant by "DVD palyer". The Nav unit "DVD player" is integral to the Alpine navigation, and DOES NOT play videos. It is for the Nav only. The unit actually contains a DVD drive, a gryo for measuring turns, and associated computer/electronics.....all mounted under the seat.
If you want a video DVD, many companies make them (Alpine, Kenwood..........). Several threads on them posted. Hopefully that helps |

I realize that it is a specialized DVD unit and does not play videos/music, etc..
So is the DVD Nav unit underneath the passenger seat also Alpine? |

| Unit under the seat is an Alpine made, and is very similar (if not the same) as the Alpine 851 DVD unit....software and controls are different though. Alpine uses a remote vice touch screen and buttons. S/W updated for Acura with some additional functions. Not sure what is needed to integrate an Alpine 851 w/ an Acura stock Navigation display |
