Dear Tim..

Was wondering if you can hook us up with the touch up paint?

How much is each bottle? and is there a bigger bottle?

There was no SS color touch up paint in my dealer... sigh..

So.. please help?..

Tim,

How much for Red Rock Pearl touch up paint? (Brush-on type.)

I don't think that Tim will ship touch-up paint or VTM fluid.

I remember Tim mentioning the hassles with VTM fluid, but no mention of touch up paint, though the same HM problems could apply here, too.

Tim, if you are listening, let us know. I need some tu paint, too.

Technically I can, but for one thing. It's an ORM-D class hazmat, and it is costly to ship (relative for a small part). Besides which, on such a low-dollar part, I at the very least have to cover my costs involved with it in as far as cost of the product and shipping. Since I assume nobody would want to pay 8 or 9 bucks for a bottle of touch up, I usually refer people to their local dealer.

The VTM fluid is more a matter of not trusting UPS to ship gallons of fluid in plastic containers, no matter how it's boxed. I'd estimate at least 1 in 4 would have leakage, and I'd end up refunding a lot of money, not to mention shipping costs. When you're talking of those two things, it would be very hard to attempt it, and not seem as if you're trying to "price gouge", when in fact you're really just trying to cover your own costs. I mean, it'd be a situation where the end price might end up being, say, $10 more (or more) from me than at your local dealer. People always expect me to have the best deal (or close to it), and it couldn't happen on those two things.

This is where I got my Redrock Pearl.

By the way Tim, THANKS for the rear bumper cap and exhaust, etc. I received them very fast and complete.

My, wife put a golf ball size hole in the MDX 9 days after we bought it and had to get a rear bumper, etc. I got some touchup paint from above (just in case) They have spray cans etc. They didn't have Redrock Pearl listed but found out that Honda had the same paint code..

My experience may be exceptional to the rule, but when I asked my dealer, they just handed over the touch-up paint to me and "NO CHARGE", they insisted.

hook...similar experience here! If your dealer is REALLY accommodating on your next trip ask them for one...you may be surprised.
Else it runs you $4.95 or so. It comes with its own applicator. Use it sparingly but with even multiple coats!!!

HAHAHA that is funny Tim...Touch paint being a HAZMAT....
Trust me it is...You can get a pretty nice high smelling that stuff.
Sandman
It is a HAZMAT and requires the shipping of MSDS sheets. Most caustic chemicals do and require extra shipping and handling charges, just like biohazard materials.

Not a job that I want:eek:
