| I'm thinking of getting one of these for my base SS. does ony one have any experience with these, whether it will fit on the factory rack, how the silver color looks, and the best place to buy in southern california? The lowest price I've seen is $340, but it's usually $399 without shipping. |

| I bought the Thule 1600 at Sport Racks in Sunnyvale. The silver color matches my SS MDX very well and it looks great. The 1600 is the right size for the MDX. It does not over extend. However, the carrier would not fit long skis. I had to drill couple holes at one end (1 inch from the last hole) in order to fit the MDX roof racks. I would recommend to put the front brackets first and mark the new hole at the back. The new hole does not have to be perfect. you can make it 1 inch long in length so you can adjust the bracket easier. |

| I was also thinking of going with the Sports Rack. I saw their site at www.gearonthego.com .they have a store down here in southern california and the web site has a 10% off coupon. I wish I could get a packasport but the wife won't go for a $1000 cargo box. I don't think I could either. If I were handy with fiberglass I'd consider making one myself. |
