Tonight I just came from New Jersey back to Long Island, and the lights were amazing on the jersey turnpike. I was amazed how much the road ahead was lite up. I never saw anyhting like it before. The blue is slight but very impressive color. Looked just like an X5 that passed me and also very similiar to the audi. The lights seem brighter on my MDX because it's different type of reflector. The BMW and Audi have a much small circle type beam. |

Whoa! Thanks a lot Paul! That was very informative... I noticed the tiles on the wall help you leveling the beam too :)
I'm quite surprised the beam cover quite a long range! Did you notice if your light ever blinds the car in the front on their side mirror? Seem like they aim pretty high...
Thanks again for the coverage! :)
Cheers! |

| No they don't blind people in front, I readjusted so the beam is just below there rear view mirrows. I even adjusted so not to blind compact small cars like the saturn that are low to the ground. It took me about three days of adjusting to get just right. They are amazing, should have got these years ago. Once you have driven at night with HID I don't think I can go back. They work great as daytime running lights also. |

Thanks for your impressive efforts in describing and photographing your HID stage IIs.
I received the brighter 4100K HID from Hidkits.com($475 total included shipping. I was very happy with their cust svc and same day shipping. I am also quite impressed with the wonderful light output from this system.
I had the beams adjusted to 37" from the ground from a distance of 25 feet to the garage door.
I measured the vertical headlight bulbs at 39-40 inches. However I parked behind my friend's Ford Focus last night and turned on my low beam HIDs and his passenger mirror was blinded by the brightness. I'll have to adjust the beams downward.
Paul123 Do you happen to have the vertical height of the beams that reflect off your garage door that you adjusted which does not blind the driver in front?
I would really appreciate it if you could share that info.
BTW I have the Michelin tires @ 32 PSI.
Thanks again. |

| I kept adjusting and driving so that I could come up on the rear of different cars. At first I adjusted for regulars cars and then had to readjust for the sub-compacts because it blinded them. It's amazing how far the beam goes if you leave it a little high. After driving to the city last night I had to make a final adjustment a little lower to cover all vehicles. Most cars tend to move aside when I come up upon them. The light is so bright it lites up the back of the car like it daylite!!! I'm starting to think about using an HID for my fogs? |

I am too. The problem is that the blub is too long to fit in the housing. (I only did a visual inspection. I'm not about to remove one of my bulbs to confirm this. I could just imagine me dropping it while trying to make it fit!)
You would need to remove your housing and send it to be modified to fit the HID bulb.

I think I'm going to wait a little before I go further on the HID fogs. I'll give the Piaa Ion Yellow a little while. I took these pics for my own record and couldn't resist to post to show how the stage II really isn't that blue/purple, and more of a white color. I made my final adjustment to beams that I am very happy with, and these pics were right after adjustment to show how they look to the oncomming traffic.
Pretty Cool!!!!
I even ran into a Police Officer who admired the lights and wanted to purchase for his own vehicle.

This will be the last and final pic, some people would call me obsessed with them and I guess I am. If you are a night driver like myself they are a must buy! |

Ouch! My eyes!!!!!
LOL... For sure I can tell how happy you are with the lights from THESE pictures :)
Congrats on the great buy! I personally love the colour of Stage2 than anything else. It looks really nice. :)

| As promised I am attaching some images after install. These are the 9006 Stage II Type II Ballests. The igniter is separate an allows a greater area for the install. I mounted the main part doen on the frame rail and the igniter up top for easy connection. The color is fantastic and what can I say but WOW! The pictures do not do it justice! This is the Drivers side install |

| Isn't it amazing when you come up from behind on someone, it's like an explosion of light. Even during the day they are great for daytime running lights. I am very impressed with the start up, how they build up to full intensity. :D :D |

i honestly am convinced this is the greatest upgrade i could have gotten for my X... I wanna put a set of these lights on all of my cars.
only gripe I had was one of the bulbs was slightly messed up (the purple ground cover thingy was bent and cracked a lil) but the bulbs work perfectly and when I called up hids4less they told me I could send the bulb in if I wanted to. I said it was OK as long as it was working, and got confirmation that my 5 year warranty was still good (just so they didnt say that the bulb blew cause of physical damage)
man fireblade thanks so much. it was your original pictures that motivated me to get these, and im sooo glad i did |

| Am very happy with my Stage IIs as well. One thing I had not thought about though, the high beams are no longer aimed properly. With the HIDs, you have to adjust the light focus up a good deal (several turns). That same adjustment also brings the high beams up...............and they were already aimed. High beams are now pretty good for bird watching! The good thing though, you do not really need highs with these things |

Excellent point there. I never thought about that since the MDX comes with a sealed light housing. But then again like you said...WE never had to use the highs....I never need to use the highs on the countryside where there are not streetlights.
Well am glad that you all like them. I sure do. |

let me throw you guys a another complaint against hids4less:
i bought 1 stage 1 kit.
i just checked my credit card and i found that they charged me for another kit - $600!!
over a period of 3 months, that's 3 charges for stage 2 kits, 2 charges for stage 1 kits, 2 refunds for stage 2 kits and 1 refund for stage 1 kit. net result: charges for stage 2 AND stage 1 kit.
check your cards... and their billing dept sucks... |

I'd report them to your credit card company. Good luck trying to get them to reverse the charges.

| JUST CURIOUS TO SEE IF EVERYONE EITHER RECEIVED THERE ORDER OR CANCELLED THEIR ORDERS. WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT NOBODY IS STILL AWAITING THERE HID'S. IT'S ODD WHEN I CALLED RECENTLY TO ASK A QUESTION THERE IS A RECORDING SAYING THEY ARE AWAY TILL MAY 1ST, AND WHEN I TRIED TO GET THEM YESTERDAY AND TODAY THE MACHINE IS PLAYING THE SAME MESSAGE. I THOUGHT THAT TO BE A LITTLE ODD????? |

Billing dept?! What billing dept?! I bet their billing and accounting is done on paper napkins. You really think those guys know how to use computers? When they take your order, I guarantee they're just jotting them down. They probably only use the comps when using email but that's probably only the management, aka, Kyle or Mike.
Need I remind you all that this is a webfront operation. We didn't buy our Xs from "acuras4less". I would be wary of buying anything from a "4less" shop. Still feel confident about your 5 year warranties?
Good luck Young...Check out BBB.org next... |

| I drove mt wife's Maxima SE last night with stock lights and it seemed as if the battery was dead. It's going to be hard to drive any car that doesn't have the HID system. The stock lights only light up a few feet in front of the car. Even with the fogs on they did nothing, now I'm debating doing the conversion for her car. I think it has the h4 bulb. One light for low and high and not sre what for the fogs but they are terrible. But again she doesn't drive much in the evening, I'm not sure whether or not to start the project again? |
