Adding Functionality to "Upgraded" MDX Touring Bose Stereo - Click HERE for Original Thread

The six disc changer Bose stereo that comes with the Touring Package works just fine, but it's relatively dumb compared with even the least expensive home CD players. It doesn't display elapsed time for each cut (or time to go either). It won't random play through all of the CD's loaded -- just the one that's playing. It will repeat a single cut but not a whole CD when there are others load. (It just goes from one to the next.) It won't just eat a CD and put it in an empty slot -- you have to go to the empty bin and then "load." Many very simple functions that are on the least expensive units. Is there any way to enable any of these functions without getting a new CD player?

Com'on Doc.

You gotta remember your ridin in a motor vehicle. Your expectations, along with many others, about the
audiophilic qualities of mobile sound systems are too idealistic.

Besides, with all the road noise and the crap most people listen too while driving, the standard eguipment is more than adequate.
Save the serious music and gear for your listening room.
