Rain-X washer treatment - Click HERE for Original Thread

Rain-X came out with a windshield washer fluid treatment where you just dump the stuff in the tank. No need for wiping on the glass and then removing excess. Does anyone know if the fluid treatment stuff will damage the paint? I got so excited that I added it to the washer fluid but now I am hesitant to use it. Help! I hope I won't have to pump the washer reservoir.

Thanks in advance.

Thie stuff is not good. It is smeary and a waste. I think it is safe for paint, put it does not work well.

Regular RainX is OK, but the stuff from Boeing works much better.

The problems with the RainX washer fluid include: 1) it smears -- even when the glass is clean and dry and you hit the sprayer it smears instead of 'whisking" off 2) it doesn't 'cling' to glass, it mostly rolls off 3) it does stick to wiper blades so they get too slick and you have to clean them to get back good wiper performance.

On the plus side, it doesn't seem to attack wax or paint, o over spray is not a problem.

Use it up and be warned...
I've been using Rain-X for over 2 years, with pretty decent results.

The key is that you have to apply the regular stuff. The washer fluid just makes the regular stuff last longer.

I don't think the washer fluid by itself will do anything.

It's kind of a pain to apply, but I like the results.
