I too want to buy all my parts from Tim and have a reputable body shop in the area install them. I live out on the Island so I'm not to far from you.
P.S. How is the paint on your mudguards holding up and which shop did you go to?
I bought the deflector from Tim before my MDX arrived and the dealer installed it. If you do a search on the deflector, many on this site have done the installation, and it looks simple enough, with just 4 holes drilled I believe.
The paint is holding very well on the mudguards. I went to a local mechanic on College Point in Flushing. They put on about 3 coats before sealing it. It was also relatively inexpensive at $10 each.
Hope this helps... |

I don't think I can get a better deal than $10, can you tell me the name of the shop? |

| A bit late, but the shop's on College Point Blvd. next to the car wash near Whitestone Expressway. The car wash is pretty big, can't miss it.... |

Well,
This past weekend, I installed an HID kit from www.hidkits.com . It came with an adjustable ballast, and just felt I should post some of the pics.
Enjoy!!
Here's what was in the box... ballasts, bulbs, 5-way switch to adjust between 4250K to 10000K |

| Here's the HID installed, the right headlamp is the HID, and the left is the Plasma Industries blue-coated halogens. Note the difference in intensity. |

| Here's with the switch turned to the highest setting... (4250K, most lumens, vs. 10,000K, bluer, less lumens) |

I'm not MDXtrous, and I don't presume to know all the answers. But, are you serious about upgrading your non-NAV X so you can watch movies while driving? Two issues there: the non-NAV screen is etched glass and not RGB based, so no go; and I hope you don't plan on doing what you said (I notice you did type "hahahaha" afterwards). Oh, and he already answered your question in another post, around 1800, I believe. Gotta stop now - can't assume another person's identity. |

dj-mdx is right in all aspects. The Navi conversion is really for when I'm waiting at the parking lot or the occasional time for the front passenger. It is VERY dangerous to watch and I don't while driving.
Do a search on Sam's unit, as it's a bit more elegant than mine AVC-RGB1 conversion. When I did it, there weren't many options around. Yes, the installation was $800 at the time, and the parts came out to be about $1000 - $1500 I think, including all the stuff I added later.
The non-nav can't be converted so you may need to get a separate receiver with a screen like the ones made by Alpine and Clarion. |

one more thing
your baby camera is a great idea. But I just had a baby too, and I realized one thing after looking at your pics.
Your camera is on the wrong seat facing the wrong way.
For a newborn, you will need a rear facing safety seat in the back. And with the current position of your camera, all you will be looking at is the back of the carseat.
What you may want to do is put the camera FORWARD facing attached to the middle row seats...
Hope this helps |

You are right. For now, I have it facing towards the back, because my wife's been sitting in the back seat (supposedly safer for pregnant women to sit in the back). I may either switch positions after the baby is born, or get one of those mirrors (but may defeat the purpose). But once the baby's facing forward, I won't have to worry about. |
