I just turned over 3,000 miles and changed the oil my self in my driveway. Here are a few tips.
1. Next time I will have to drive up on a ramp or about 2" to 4" of wood so I can access the drain plug and filter better.
2. When removing the drain plug, the oil shoots out about 9" toward the back of the car. Make sure the oil catch pan is back far enough. I have never seen this occur before.
3. Be sure and get the new washer for the drain plug.
I put 10W30 oil in my car for Florida's weather.

| I just picked up my MDX. The dealer told me to let the original oil stay in the crankcase for 4000 miles as it contains an oil addititve that must work into the metal. |
