Won't Start - Click HERE for Original Thread

I picked up my GG base 10 days ago and tonight it won't start. Cranks fine but won't start. While driving the key immoblizer (KI) light started flashing. After turning off the car, the car would not restart. I noticed now that when inserting the key and turning to position "II", the KI light would not come on. According to the manual, the light should illumunate for a few seconds then turn off. I never really noticed the light before. Is the manual correct? I then tried my other master key and then the valet key. All had the same symptom.

I then called Acura Roadside assistance. The dispatch operater was friendly but I believe that he gave me some misinformation. The operator indicated that if the KI was activated, that the car would not even turn over. Refering to the manual, it states that the KI will stop the fuel system. This makes me think that the car would still turn over if it is a KI problem.

The car has been towed to my dealer and they indicated that they will be replacing the Electronic Control Unit (ECU). I should have it back tommorrow.

Good luck. Keep us informed.
Dealer put in a new ECU (otherwise known as PCM). The dealer asked me to bring in the 2nd key and the Valet key. He claimed that the keys needed to be reprogrammed. My thought is that the keys wouldn't be able to be reprogrammed. I would have thought the new ECU would have to be programmed with the code on the key. This would also make sense since if I needed a duplicate key, I would bring in the key number on the key tag that I originally received when I purchused the car.
Any thoughts?
I had a similar problem the other day. 1900 miles on engine. Went to start my MDX the other morning, and it just cranked. Acted like it was out of gas. Tried several times, but it wouldn't start. Let it sit for another few minutes, and it started like a charm. Haven't had any problems since. weird !!

Sorry to hear that.
Mine has been starting fine since the new ECU. I hope your problem is resolved since it may be more difficult to find an intermittent problem.

The dealer is right, the transponder keys need to be learned by the ECU when replaced or if a new key is added to the mix. Whenever the ECU is replaced, all the keys that you intend to start the vehicle must be present at the time of programming or they will not start the vehicle. The engine will crank but if the immob sys detects a transponder that is not stored, it will not initialize the fuel pump relay circuit creating a no-start condition.
