All kinds of weird sounds our MDX's make have been discussed in here so far. I think I eliminated all "known" sources of these sounds, yet they persist.
During rough turns and/or hitting potholes, etc. I hear a "Metal on Metal" sound coming from the middle of the car (center console, second row seats). Seemingly, it comes from UNDER a car (like a pipe is loose and hits an under-belly). I also hear what I think is fuel flowing in the tank during breaking/acceleration. Does MDX really lack sound-proofing that much???
Anyone else experience similar "incidents?" Does it warrant going to a dealer to have it checked?
Thanks. |

I brought her in for service this morning. ;(
Mechanic who took a ride with me on Saturday, also heard "sounds".
Well, they just called me. After re-tightening suspension on the lift and then again on the ground, the noise still persists. An Acura rep, who "miraculously" turned up at the dealership, suggested to take a closer look at the struts. They'll do it tomorrow morning. I am without my baby tonight!!! :(
They also ordered new struts ("just in case" as the dealer put it).
Since it was an unscheduled drop-off ( and the dealership is only several blocks away from the subway ) I did not get a loaner. If it is not fixed by tomorrow night, I will definitely request one.
I hope it's nothing "serious" and the dealer will not decide to "practice" on my car.
I'll keep you posted. |

I am taking my car back from the dealer later tonight.
The "kluck-kluck" noise is still there. They ordered shocks/struts - should be in within a week.
My poor car. :( |
