I was just thinking how strange it would be to be parked next to one of the new Mini Cooper S with 17" wheels.
Wheel to wheel.....
Probably the door would hit my side steps...!

intertesting topic...but what does that have to do with the significance of the mdX?

Nuthin' at all! But it does let me add another post!! No matter what you post, there is always someone to read it, and even comment on it.
Should have been in an Off Topic category but then it does mention the MDX.

17 wheels on a Mini? Thats ridiculous. The whole premise of the car is the little skate wheels they come with. That low CG is what keeps them on the road.

Well, call it the mini reborn. It does garner up some great reviews.

With 2nd and 3rd row seats down, will it fit inside MDX?:D

I parked beside one last week and these thing is too small.

My co-worker bought one and she drove it from here to Vegas and she said that she was averaging 45mpg.

The S version is a real pocket rocket esp. in the turns. Much what the original was with more safety features and better reliablility.

I agree with you Dale and also my coworker said that she's saving a lot of money in gas coz she only goes to fill up every 3 weeks.

I took a real good look at the Mini Cooper S with my roomate who is a BMW finatic. We both agreed the car's build and quality is piss poor. Everything felt very cheap, fragile, and plasticy. There was some kind of silly plastic door for a compartment in the back we were looking at and we accidentally broke it when trying to close the thing. Under the hood the engine looks like a cramped power blaster with a oil pan hanging below. It wasn't at all what I expected because I read so many good reviews on the car.

That's disappointing, although it is priced quite competitively with cars of less performance. I saw a road test last week on Motorweek. The guy was thrilled with it. Said he ordered one for himself.
That's the same show that pulled 7.6 sec 0-60 in a 2001 MDX a while back.

Well, I do have 18" on my bimmer. . . but it certainly isn't as small as the Mini

The writers at Motortrend must have dozens of cars. It seems everytime I read an article about a car or truck rated favorably they go out and buy it. I was just reading the review of the Tiburon and they loved it so much guess what? They bought it!
More likely the car was given to them in return for favorable feedback or they are stretching the truth for sales.

I will probably get one to replace my Pathfinder as my day to day car and I'll use my X for long driving.
