Sorry this is too much BS...
Volvo says the XC90's third row of seats will be safe for children
and, in fact, isn't even designed to be comfortable for adults.
Extolling the virtues of not letting kiddies sit in front of the air bag, wearing a friggin' seat belt & using rear facing child seats - DUH DUH DUH! WHat is this 'reporter' some doofus un-frozen from 1963???
You know what else really really irks about Volvo --
"The cars all come standard, basically worldwide,
with the same features,"
LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!
Basically worldwide? Uh NO! They do NOT!They load /em up for North America AND stick it to us on prices! You you know that in Europe they have "give away pricing" on Volvos. In one of the Edmunds boards some US armed forces guy was saying that XC90 is like $35,000!!! That is a good 1/3 less than they are going to market at 'over here'. |

| Yeah, and having had an V70XC just before buying my MDX they had better really work on improving reliability besides all the marketing hip about safety. I know my wife is sure convinced that Volvo's continue to be safer due to all the media and continuing emphasis on it. She already was the XC90 info and asked the question why Acura doesn't focus as much and provide all the same safety equipment. Skid control and side curtains would go a long way against the XC90. |

I agree safety definately is a Volvo thingy. Also add in looks.
IMO, MDX is looks, reliablity but safety is not at the highest level as compared to the Volvo.

.........I'll have to TOTALLY DISAGREE with what some of you have to say about Volvo's safety .......it's definitely NOT all B.S. and media hype as some of you say.....
Just the other day one of my very close friends was involved in a severe accident on the freeway travelling at 65mph, in which her 1998 Volvo Sedan was TOTALLED........UNBELIEVEABLY she walked away from the wreck unscathed!!!!!!!.........UNREAL!!.......the only thing is she's really rattled by the experience and will not drive for a while.
But reliability, of course, is a totally different story....(and that's why I will not even consider a Volvo) |
