I'm EXTREMELY PIS*ED OFF   with the new Acura website .........it's a HUGE FRIGGIN STEP BACKWARD from the old one.....
First off, I've already noticed several mistakes.....Under the "MDX" section it talked about the "2003" MDX incorrectly, they seem to have corrected this.....then under the "specifications" section they say the MDX has a 4 SPEED AUTO instead of a 5-speed and go on to give 4 Ratios  ..........and there are more mistakes, but I don't recall all of them now
But here's what REALLLLY MAKES ME MAD  .......What the friggin hell happened to the section on the Navi System (where you could order DVD updates on line, had Navi FAQs, Coverage areas of the U.S. for the latest version with maps showing this etc.)?? This used to be under "Engineering" and "Navigation" sections.........after looking hi and lo, I finally found a link in the "OWNER LINK" section FAQs that supposedly has a link to order new DVD versions.....but when you click on it the dam* thing says "page not found" or something to that effect!!
Can someone hammer :25: some sense into these peoples heads?? Haven't any of these people heard the saying "if it ain't friggin broken, don't friggin try to fix it!! |

I totally noticed the same things. It confused the hell out of me. I'm kind of wondering if my new MDX (will be getting it in a week) will be a 4-speed or 5-speed.
I can't find anything that gives me the detailed difference you get with the Touring package. I know that you get Michelin's instead of Goodyear, but only from following this site :6: |

| I hope you took the time to complain to Acura! And I'd suggest that everyone on this forum check out the site and complain if they agree with these posts -- and keep complaining until it gets fixed! |

I'm HOPING the screw-ups will be fixed aftert the 03s pricing is announced (which is like a month away??).
I susupect that they have all the content for 03s ready-to-go and probably did some accidental editing/link breaking when they went with the redesign.
That said, I think the site could really benefit from some better pictures, demos/animations of VTEC, Nav, VTM et cetera. (of course when you sell every one you can build, not much incentive for extra marketing). The DORKY and SLOW 'feature map' is a STUPID WASTE!!!
I am generally not a fan of "noisy sites" but the music Acura uses in the ads for TLs would be a nice touch ...
As to the e-commerce aspects, I really like the "search inventory function" and WISH that you could get an better insight into what is on dealer lots by specifyng "show all _________ model in __________color with _______interior with ______option" and then you could really save time finding what you want -- especially since dealers don't seem to want to do dealer-to-dealer trades.
It would also be WAY FUN if you could give feedback to Acura about what you like/dislike about the MDX... |

Sent them a long email expressing my dissapointment, and also called Acura Client Services, but got the same "could-care-less" attitude from the rep who said without interest that "she'd make a note of what I said"
.......hopefully they do! |

I just spent a little time on the site, and I have to admit that I didn't hate it. I like being able to register my Acuras and check for recalls, etc. I did notice the errors in the MDX description, and would email or otherwise contact Acura to point out the misinformation. I don't have a nav system in any of my Acuras, so I don't know about the loss of the updates, etc.
I guess we all have different uses and requirements. |

Hmmm.........
Maybe if www.Acura.com placed a link on their website to this forum. Then visitors interested in the MDX who don't know about this site would get a chance to learn more about the MDX than their site could ever provide.
Better yet, lets convince Acura to send us the new web content information so we can post all of it here and save them the embarrassment. Since most of us here would be able to edit out any inaccurate info before it gets published online.;) |

Give them so time to fix all the quirks. The Stereo system has the rear speakers behind the rear doors, which it isn't. They will get there act together shortly. Like all websites and computers, they need a little adjusting. I would of thought they would of tested before posting it on the internet, but I guess not. |

| It shows the MDX as having less storage space than the Lexus RX300. |

I'm wondering just how many of these web content authors drive the vehicles they are placing info for on the website?
It seems logical given all the mistakes being made on the site that hardly any of these authors drive the vehicle their posting info about. |

I don't think it's even reasonable to expect "web content authors" to use the products that they are writing about. First of all, they don't decide what to write, they just write what they're told to write, maybe with a bit of editorial license. Secondly, just because someone drives an MDX, for example, doesn't make them an expert, and they could be totally mistaken as to the specs. However, there should be a better proofing process so these mistakes don't make it to the web. I'd be willing to bet that the mistakes are fixed shortly.
Again, let Acura know when you find a mistake. Of course, we shouldn't have to tell them when they're wrong about the specs of their vehicles, but when problems leak through, it's a good idea to get it fixed. |
