Not a whole lot to go on. I don't know about those fake flare outlines around the fenders. The rear looks a little strange too. I think it's trying to be too many things for different people.
I always liked the Nissan Pathfinder's looks. Simple clean lines for an SUV. Of course, I don't know what they have in mind for 2003. |

I thought the 4Runner was scheduled to come out much later than 03 MDX, and that is a licenses (maybe manufacturer plate), fully badged 03!!
Agree with vic about it being totaly different kind of vehicle...supposed to have V8 option, right? Defiantely shows heritage of past model and Prado/GX470.
Not for me...
Wonder what price will be??? $27-$38k??? How about MPG?? |

Not bad at all.
Isn't the new 4runner going to be based on the same Prado-derived platform as the Lexus GX470? |

| Looks pretty nice. However, the shape seems to be very similar to the GX470. vic, are you sure it's not a similar setup with Highlander/RX300? |

Vic,
Thanks for the pics! I am not sure about you guys, but it kinda looks like a GMC Envoy at some angles.
It should be very similar to the GX470 in size. It is similar to the Highlander/RX300 and Land Cruiser/LX470.
Thanks. |

I find the design a little unsettling. I think they wanted to make it unique, and did so. The bottom half resembles a Grand Cherokee and the top half, well quite frankly the side windows look similar to the MDX.
From the front and back it is a 4Runner, because I know of nothing else it looks like. |

| Very cool. Thanks Vic. I like the new styling. It's not too cheeky and it's not too boxy. A nice cross between the Soccer Mom "Van-U-Vee" look of the RX300 and the outdated boxy look of the older Land Cruisers. I don't like the fender flares though. Especially in two tone. They stand out way too much. Otherwise I think it's pretty nice. |

I agree, it does have some of the same looks as the GMC Envoy. I wonder how the true 4Runner owners are going to react towards this new design. IMHO the 4runner was a sleek looking SUV for many years, good lines and features for the price. Looking at this it seems it has lost most all of its heritage looks. |

| Any mention of 3rd row seating capabilities ? I assume it is body on frame with solid rear axle, rwd standard, 4wd optional, 5spd manual standard and 5spd auto optional ? Any confirmation of engine configs w/ HP ? This new 4runner got my attention . . . |

| mea culpa or as Roseann Roseanna Danna would say ". . . Never mind"!!! I found the answers on VicPai's previous thread re: '03 4Runner . . . didn't realize that there is a prequel to this thread. |

| Vic, nice pics. I know the 4runner sales have sagged recently, especially with the advent of the highlander. |
