My 2002 MDX w Touring and Nav has a creaking driver's seat. Has anyone else experienced this and/or have a simple solution?

Mine clicks when I turn sharp (there's a thread on this topic titled something like 'driver's seat clicks when turning') -- I've been told that the fix it to have the rail replaced. Some think it's a safety problem. I've ignored it the best I can! It is quite annoying however.

YES! It happened to us. Our's wasn't a rail problem, although that was their first attempted fix. They ended up having to bring in an independent Upholstery Guy to (quoting from the work order) "Remove and Reinstall Left Front Seat Cover." For us it worked like a champ!

How this helps.

My driver seat started creaking, mostly when braking. I asked the dealer about it and he said it had to just work itself out....he didn't offer to do anything.

So, I figured if it would work itself out I would help it. I sat in the seat and rocked forward and back...rather hard....for a couple minutes. All of a sudden, silence! To be honest, I was just taking out aggressions more than thinking I was actually doing any good.

So, I recommend you get in your car and have a temper tantrum. It worked wonders for both the seat and my own sanity.

You also performed an accelerated life test on the seat, and probably lost a couple of pounds in the process :D

Apple, etal,
I had this problem and posted it in the knowledge base. My driver's seat shifted upon sharp turns and had to ask the dealer twice to replace the seat rail which they did upon the second request. I believe there is even a TSB out on this problem which you can do a search on. Once the seat rail assembly was replaced, I never had a problem again. One word of caution, since you have the Touring package with seat memory, the repair will wipe out your settings so be advised. It took me a couple of weeks to get it set back to my favorite spot again.

I believe this is this forum's version of an urban legend! The TSB does not seem to exist however the rail replacement seems to be the most common fix. If any one actually finds the full text of the TSB, I'd love to see it!
