Here's an excellent web site for replacement parts for the MDX:
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net/
You can search to see how much it cost to replace the stock speakers. Here is the link:

The stock speakers are rightfully listed at $15.30. The sub is a whopping $93.04! You can get MUCH better sub for that money. I can't figure out what parts #14, #15 and #16 are?? They are listed as amplifiers ranging from $168 to $438. That would push the total price way beyond what you would pay for a very decent aftermarket system...
One neat item is the rain guard. Only $6. So if I screw up modifying it for the rear door speakers I can replace it for cheap... |

Now, now look again, THEIR price for the sub is $74.44. Would you believe you can get REAL sub like a Polk GNX series for $5 less? |

Quite frankly, I'm surprised they cost that much. They look and sound much cheaper than 15 bucks. Can't see why the "sub" is so much more expensive. Not much to it either.
Replaced them all and love the sound. |

Which sub did you end up going with?
Also, did you try the bass blockers in the doors? I am quite satisfied with the doors now. |

Sorry for the delay in responding. Have been out of town for several days.
I went with the Audiobahn AWC10Q sub. I picked it because it was 2 ohm and 92.5 db. Have to build a ring adapter however. Won't fit otherwise.
I did not install the bass blockers in the doors. I don't hear the "booming" bass that others hear. I think it sounds just great as is. Apparently, my low range hearing is shot from a misspent youth.
I did install sound dampening material in all the doors which helped with the road noise. |
