Help! I'm looking to upgrade my front speakers to Focal 165K's and it looks like the tweeter may not fit in the stock tweeter location?!?
Does anyone have any experience/ideas with replacing stock tweeters and size constraints? I'd like to use the existing tweeter location with whatever aftermarket component system I choose...tweeters fitting into the stock location will play into that decision.
It looks like the woofer will be no problem... |

| You could probably fab a bracket to hold a tweeter in that spot. The stock tweeter and its mounting hardware are not really a big help in mounting an aftermarket. It could be done with a little work and I think the result would sound great. I went with Image Dynamic Chameleons and use them are coaxials. Some day, I might try and mount the tweeter in that spot. The listed diameter of the Focal 165K tweeter is 1 3/4"...I'm not sure there's even enough space there...
I know Mig has Focal 165K's installed. Hopefully, he'll have some advice... |
