I see the same company is coming out with one for a car. Don't see why it can't be the same as the watch with just different packaging. It should operate on it's own power.

I found this a while ago for cars, it works on the same principle, it's pretty valuable from what I can tell. $800 plust service, doesn't sound like awfully lot...

The service plans are reasonable, but I don't see why the unit is double the price of the watch. What is it doing for your car that is so different than what is does for tracking a child?
