No- I'm not talking about the Austin Powers movie.

I need some advise. Apparently, I have a mole problem. They are destroying my lawn- digging up holes etc. I tried to pour diazanide thru the holes the created without any luck. All that did was burn my grass.

How do i get rid of these little suckers? any links or advise?

To keep the environmentalist happy Lubbock is moving, rather than killing, them:rolleyes:

In NC, it's illegal to kill either moles or voles. Maybe you want to consider getting a cat.

I went to CostCo and bought some of those electronic mole repellents . They were about $20 per pair and seem to have helped.

MDXLuvr,

Try Juicy Fruit gum. Take the sticks, roll them up into a ball (you'll have to make sure they're a little moist) and poke them down into the 'active' path(s). To determine the active path(s), you'll have to step on the existing ones to flatten them out. The one(s) that are raised again are 'active'.

Yes, this kills them (they can't digest the gum) as opposed to just driving them away. But, it works better than the standard mole trap, plus no mess to clean up.

I've used this method for years at the first hint of a mole problem and it has never failed me yet.

This method is definitely not endorsed by the environmentalists or PETA, but it does work.

Good Luck!

Thanks guys.:)

I can always count of this site for great info/links. I am allergic to cats, so that is not an option.

I think I will go with dmcconaghie's recs. The moles are a nuissance, and even though i am an environmentalist, I am DEFINETLY NOT a PETA member. I checked, and it is legal to kill them in Tx. I really don't want to kill them, i just want them to stop destroying my yard.

thanks again!

From just looking at the title of this thread I thought we had an undercover poster from BMW or Mercedes or Lexus.

Have had luck getting rid of moles, took me many months to figure it out. Did not relocate them, did not get irritating device to send them to neighbors yard, Killed the SOB's.....

Used traps but takes a while to learn the technique to properly set them.

The reason you have them is due to bugs in the "lawn/field." So one way to get ride of them is to kill the bugs and therefore their food.

You may find this trite but the moles don't like vibrations and noise. If you buy a couple of those tacky spinning daisies or the like, the sound will chase them away. (if you don't like the look, you might be able to put them in a more discreet place.)

Good luck!

Our neighbour, a retired "farmer", also told us to use Juicy Fruit Gum to get rid of moles :4:

make sure they are not chipmunks. I finally bought a trap (open on both ends) and caught over 20 chipmunks over a two week period....no more holes around my house! I thougt i had moles and tried all kinds of poisons, but they dont work on chipmunks.
anyway good luck
