Any suggestions for place to install
1. Pioneer GEX-7000 ( already bought)
2. Pioneer avd-w6010 (still looking to buy)
3. backup camera maybe (still looking to buy)
Place should be no more 50-60 miles from SF
Thanks

I used to dabble in this stuff some years ago, seems I remember a very reputable installer on Lombard, near Scott's Seafood? Ring a bell? Might be Peter's Stereo or some such thing. Probably not there anymore. Considering the Marina district and all , they are probably not cheap either.
Should be some good ones in San Carlos/San Mateo...I am sure you will get more feedback.
I knew a good one in Sunnyvale on El Camino and Bernardo, think they changed management, so I don't know now if they are as good. |

| If you are looking in the east bay, try Platinum Auto Stereo and Alarm in Oakland. They do good work. They installed my Prestige Alarm system, and tinted my front windows. I will use them to install my backup camera/ LDC mirror (I now posess), and a DVD/TV system w/headrest monitors (I'll get soon). Tell Ramon that the "MDX guy" referred you.;) |

Rolling Thunder in San Rafael is probably the highest caliber stereo installater in the Bay Area. They have featured installs on numerous car stereo magazines. Phone Number (415)456-1681 or
they also have a website: http://www.rtaudio.com
Peter's Audio Radio which I can not vouch for them, they are located in Lombard street Between Fillmore and Steiner in SF. Ph:(415)567-4678. I listed them because they were mentioned in the other posts. ASP(Auto Sound Performance) in Daly City. Ph:(650)758-6500. They have a few show cars that I have seen and heard at the Import Car shows. Very good quality installs. Also try Sound and Alarm in Daly City. Ph(650)991-4448. I do have the Navi conversion and I got mines done by Henry at Monney's car stereo in Colma/Daly City. They have been bought out by a new owner and I do not know if he still works there. If you need an AVC RGB1 I might be able to get you one from one of my sources. I had to hunt this piece down myself. Mine was made in Japan and the instructions came in Japanese so I don't know if this holds true for all the AVC RGB1 models. It cost me less than $ 150.00 at the time but it might cost more now since it is harder to find. Supply and demand you know. Let me know if you are interested I'll call him to see if he still has it, I hope he can give you the piece for the same price, I usually get my items at a discount . I have no instructions for the GEX but I think I might still have the instructions for the AVC, worst comes to worst maybe your chosen install shop can take a look at my AVC RGB1 and maybe the GEX is similar in design and they might be able to take it from there. I also posted a link awhile back for one of the AcuraTL owner links that have the conversion done complete with pics of the process including pics of the gutted AVC RGB1. |
