Very intriguing. I find that the majority of households in my neighborhood (self NOT included) never change their SSID from the default "linksys" and channel 6 to something more secure. Some of my friends often wonder if anyone is connecting to their wireless access point without their knowledge. Well, the link you provided proves it. About a year ago, I took my laptop into the car and started driving down the street until my "pings" stopped responding. Surprisingly enough, the pings kept on going until I reached the end of my next door neighbor's home, then stopped. I drove around the block (slowly) and discovered that a home on the other side of our home must have had a wireless access point configured because I obtained an IP address and was able to access the Internet. Just goes to show that you've got to change the defaults!:4:
