| If you do what brand of fuel injector cleaner do you use? I use Chevron with Techron. Is the STP stuff good? |

| Chevron Techron. Target usually has good prices. 1/3 less than my local Chevron station. Go figure. |

Check out http://www.gprparts.com (Maintenance Parts / Lubro Moly)
1) LUBRO MOLY Jectron Cleaner - Cleans injectors without costly removal. Restores performance and drivability. Reduces pollution and fuel consumption. Protects against rust and corrosion. $5
2) LUBRO MOLY Ventil Sauber Valve Clean - Controls intake valve deposits. Cleans entire fuel system and intake manifold. Improves drivability. Willl not harm oxygen sensor or catalytic converter. $4
I use it regularly on my '87 Mercedes 300E, and only once on the MDX.
I used to order Chevron Techron by the case (back of AutoWeek magazine), but really like the Lubro Moly line of chemicals (I use their engine oil).

| I've always had good results with Gumout fuel injector cleaner. |

| I'll second the Gumout. I've used it for 30 years on carburators and fuel injected vehicles added to the gas every few thousand miles. Keeps all parts clean and free of gum buildup. Also use Marvel Mystery Oil occasionally added to gas to clean fuel system and keep valve lifters quiet. Works great! My uncle recommended it to me. He said they used to use Mystery Oil on P-51 Mustangs during WWII for the valves. I used to have a 68 Olds Cutlass V-8 that developed lifter noise. I added Mystery Oil to the gas and the noise disappeared after running one tankful. Just don't add it to the oil as they also recommend as it dilutes the oil and makes it too thin. I usually add about 4 ounces to tank of gas every 5,000 miles or so (or if the valves start to get noisy). |

| I once had an injector problem on an old Supra. Since I worked for an international oil company, I asked our chief product engineer for advice. The product engineers had done a bunch of additive tests and comparisons. He told me to use the Techron additive to clear the injectors and then just continue to use Chevron gas. Never had a problem again and almost never put anything but Cheron gas in any of my cars. |

BG44k
Can't buy it retail- need to find a mechanic/shop that sells it. BG makes an impressive line of cleaning products for engines and transmission work as well (they make a nice flush machine).
The techron concentrate is reportedly OK. I've heard the opinion that the concentration in Chevron gas isn't high enough to do much. (But can't hurt, right?)

I believe it's most effective starting with a clean system, and using it regularly (every oil change, for example). |

To my knowledge, this is the best on the market. The Techron will improve and not hurt the system at all. Alot of other brands do more harm than good. I would only use this one.:2: |
