I couldn't find this problem in the search files, so here goes:I've been getting a sort of "thunk" sound when turning on the AC using the auto button. I really notice it when the car is in the garage more so than anywhere else..any ideas?

Are you sure it's not just the A/C compressor clutch coming on? Depending on where you're listening, it could sound like a click or a clunk -- not sure about a thunk!:2:

Maybe "clunk" is the right sound instead of "thunk" and it very well could be the compressor engaging....I just didn't notice it until the last week or so....

I don't know why it would hapen when the a/c is turned on, but on our TL, we heard a noise when the "flapper" changed position to route the air flow to a different area ( from footwell to defroster, etc.)
