Hey guys,
Bought my Black X last week but will not be in my possession until next week b/c it is @ my brother's house. Last week has been tortuous and this coming week might be even worse. Anyway, does anyone know if the X has clear headlight covers (clear) as part of their accessories? Driving on the interstate can be hazardeous to your headlights and these things can be very expensive to replace. Please let me know if these things are available and where.
Thanks Hongster
P.S. This sight is so informative and addictive |

Anyone have any experience with these products?
I do not have any experience but have been considering ordering this product for my 03 MDX that is on order.
Can one apply this product over zaino wax? |

I think he was talking about the headlight covers only. You don't put anything on top of Zaino. The finish must be down to bare clearcoat to apply the bra, or it will not adhere properly. There are a lot of articles on clearbra and others on this forum. Most of us elected to go with the front deflector instead. |

I have them on my headlights and foglights, and highly recommend them!
Make sure lenses are totally clean before applying and do it in a 'warm' environment. Best 60 bucks I spent on the MDX.
DaleB,
Do you have photos of it?
Thanks. |

There's nothing to see, really. Nobody would know you have protectors without rubbing their fingernails across them, or looking very close at the edge.
For the first few days there are some small bubbles that dissapate with time.
I will post a close-up pic or two later. |

Thanks DaleB,
I searched high and low for the clear plastic covers but no one seems to have them. I guess i will go with the covers you suggested. |

Hey DaleB,
Thanks for the Pics!!! You have just convinced me to go ahead and order them.
After looking @ your car, i still wish that they hadn't discontinued the GG color (my first choice). |

I have the "XPel" headlight and foglight protection installed on my MDX and Yukon XL. I even bought them for my parent's RX300. Like DaleB says, you can't see them. The "XPel" covers that I installed don't have the threads. I guess they're a little different than the stongard covers. They're about the same price. I think I paid a little over $60 with shipping. |

Just got my Stonguard headlight and fog light covers today and installed them in about 45 minutes. They were back ordered for 2 weeks. Unlike DaleB's they seem to be a bit larger, I actually had to trim them a bit with an exacto knife around the bottom corners of the parking lamps and they have no lines running through them at all. They are completely clear except for few white spots that will go away as the adhesive cures. I think the lights actually look a better with them on than without. They have a nice clear depth to them now. The fog lights were simple enough to install per the instructions by completely removing the back, starting from the center and working out. I don't see how you could install the headlight covers that way though. I removed the back from the center most portion of the headlight near the grill a few inches, lined it up and worked my way around to the parking lamp, lining it up again every few inches. It was not difficult at all.
I am very pleased with the Clear Mask from 3M as well. It initially had some white spots and small bubbles that completely disappeared after a few days of curing. If you are interested in a Clear Mask I would contact 3M at http://www.clearmask.com./ and find out if there is an installer in the area. I had the complete front end done, mirrors and door handle pockets for $499. The local Stonguard installer wanted almost $900 and the kit covered less area on the hood and bumper. Contrary to the claims of Stonguard there are also no seams or cut spots in the Clear Mask installation on my MDX. |
