there has been a lot of talk about if 22 inch rims can fit on a MDX with the same comfort as 20 inch rims ... well i dont have a definite answer to that but ... i have been looking around ... and i went to www.superbuytires.com and it has 4 available 22inch rims for the infamous MDX ... all though very expensive ... but they are like a pair of jordans made for SUV's ... like i said this still doesnt confirm anything becuase we have yet to see or hear anyone riding on DUB DEUCES ... hear are some pics of the 4 rims that are available ...
$8799 wheels/tires
$12,299 wheels/tires whoa!!!!!!!!!!!<--- this is only for the ballers !
$4099 wheels/tires
$4099 wheels/tires
(prices are based on www.superbuytires.com) and know i dont work for them ...
anybody have any new info .... ? |

Of course, my favorite rims are the most expensive (I don't know why that always happens with everything). The $12,299 "baller" rims are sweet. They look like the rims that spin when the tires are stationary. Is that the case?
:D |

... the last two don't do much for me.
But the cost is prohibitive; there are a lot of other toys I'd like to have:rolleyes: But if cost were NO object:cool: |

you are correct those are the rims that keep on spinning while @ the stop light ... i think they are new becuase today was my first time seeing the lone heart version of the "sprewells" ... but if i had $12k to spend on some rims i would be putting a deposite on the 2003 Range Rover ... No offense MDX'ers becuase i will also be a MDX 'er soon ...

Boy, I'll never get it I guess....
I'd take $12k and have the engine and trans totally blueprinted: add a turbo with 8-10lbs boost, drop the compression a smidge, new kevlar clutches and bands for the transmission, reprogram the PGM.....
And leave you guys spinnin' at the stop light, teeth chattering over each expansion strip on the roadway! :2:
2 each his (or her) own, though...

Now you're talking! I watched them blueprinting an engine on DIY Network last week, and thought.....if only.... |

ardvarkus,
I think you get it. If I wanted to get them at the current price, I would have them by now. I for one would have them now if only they were a gift, or the price was slashed significantly. Therefore, the $12k issue, and economic utility issue in this instance is moot.

DUBS=DOUBLE=10 + 10=20" INCH RIMS
DUB DEUCES=SAME AS ABOVE + 2(DEUCE)=22" INCH RIMS

GIVE ME A LATTE DECAF HALF AND HALF WITH A DOUBLE CAF CAPPUCINO FOR THE GUY OUT THERE POLISHING THE DUB DUECES ON MY CABRIOLET! |

No, I don't get it. I'd not put those on any car of mine if they were FREE and tires were included FOR LIFE.... but I'd accept an engine upgrade/turbo, etc in a heartbeat. In fact, I'd even chip in a few $$$ :) ... so it isn't an economic issue- it's "what do I value"..

Salivate away you DUB fanatics!
40 inchers (in layman's terms)! |

Reminds me of the old all steel tractor wheels.... Just spray on a rubberized coating and you've got the best in a "run flat" tire...

See, I knew you got it!:4: You just didn't realize it.
Let's see, I'll try to remember the economic utility discussion way back in macro economics 101 class...
Economic utility ~ (Perceived Value + Desire + Disposable Income + Taxes + (a few other variables that I can't remember right now)
From your statement, your Economic utility for spinning dubs = 0. You would not accept them as gifts. I can understand. For example, The only way I would accept free opera tickets were it I had a buyer lined up to purchace the tickets (at a markup of course).
So by your quote, you actually do show you understand the fundamental concept of how taste factors into utility. :D |
