I have just ordered a 2002 Nighhawk Black/Saddle Interior with Navi and touring system -- added cargo cover, burlwood shift knob and towing package -- are there any other recommendations for add ons??

Thanks.

I find the cargo net useful, as well as BSM; but I highly recommend a full size spare.

Add side steps, good for helping kids climb up.

Check out my signature at the bottom. I think those options are the way to go. Many here have gotten sidesteps or running boards, however, I do not like the way they stick out from the body.
(Just my personal opinion):D I don't tow anything (yet) so I opted to forego the towing package.

You should also look into getting a full-sized spare, preferrably with an additional touring rim, so you can do a 5-tire rotation. That is my next purchase. (See the thread currently going on...)

I think of all the accesories I've gotten (so far), my favorite is the rear tailgate deflector. It really makes the X look SOOo much better!:4:

Unless you got the cargo cover and shift knob thrown in free, you might be better off buying from Tim.

I got a cargo net for my car after I had a gallon of milk fall out and spill after I opened the rear door. Pretty useful I think.

The OEM steps do not stick out as far as OEM Running Boarda or Manik Side Steps.

By the way notice how quick we all are to spend your money;)

Lynn,

Take a look at out sigs (the bottom portion of our posts). You will find we usuall recommend what we have already purchased.

Another common theme I'm sure you will hear is that Tim at www.hondacuraworld.com is probably your best bet at obtaining most of the accessories at reasonable prices.

Congratulations and Good Luck! :D

Thanks! I appreciate the suggestions!

I am looking forward to getting my MDX in about two weeks!

Hiya Lynn-

Here are some of my suggestions:

1)Since you ordered the towing package with your MDX, I assume that you plan to tow small boats or watercrafts of even small trailers. With towing boats and JetSkis...I learned that having Manik Side steps really helps getting your buddies out of the water once you dock your jetskis or boats on your tailer.

2)Remove the front license plate bracket. This makes your MDX much more handsome.

3)Separation Net to prevent light things from flying over to the second row passenger seats

4)Chrome caps for your valve stems for your wheels. This really make the allow wheels complete. :)

5)Color matched rear Deflector from Tim at HondaAcura World- This will make your MDX look sportier.

6)Tint the drive and passenger window...Makes the black MDX look monochromatic.

I agree about the cover & knob, much cheaper from Tim and extremely easy to install yourself . . . can't say about the cargo net - to me the jury is still out since I haven't found too many uses for it yet.

You might want to consider the Formfit front deflector too, at first I didn't care for it - until I got my first rock chip near the front of the hood - now I'm a converted beleiver !

Oh and IMHO, the stainless Manik steps would look awesome on your Black 'X (see our buddy Fireblade's pics)

Lynn,
A cargo tray is a must if you plan to carry stuff in the back and if your have critters to haul a cargo liner is worth considering as an alternative if you don't want to put sheets on the middle seat like we do for our pooches.
