HI,
I’ve been browsing this forum for a while now. This is my first post. I got my 2002 Black/Ebony Touring MDX a week ago. Being the incredible intelligent person that I am  I left the interior lights on for 2 days while the X was in the garage.
Needless to say the battery was completely drained by the time I noticed. I called the Acura "TLC Customer Care". and after only 2 hours of waiting :3: , a tow truck guy arrived and jump started the battery. (Couldn’t do it myself, lost jumper cables, long story....). My question is. Is my battery going to have long (or short) term problems due to it draining completely so early in its life...
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Should not be a problem. If a battery sits dead for weeks it will cause damage. The plates become sulfated and may never recover fully. A dead battery that is recharged immediately should fully recover.
If it was mine I would put it on a battery charger to make sure it is 100% charged, or if you take more than a short trip the alternator should charge it. |

| just curious - how long a trip on the freeway should charge up a weak battery, assuming the alternator is functioning OK? I understand, it depends on the battery, the alternator, etc, but just some ball park - 20 miles, 50 miles, 100+ miles? |

Electricity , like heat, will go from some place that has excess to someplace that does not...
There are too many variable to know how "weak is weak" and then know how much excess amperage your alternator is delivering while you drive. The load depends on having lights on/off, A/C,Nav, wipers, VTM, fuel pump/injectors and many, many more factors.
It is FREE to get have even a Sears or Batteries Plus put a load tester on your battery to see if it is fully charged, stop by...
