| I compared my MDX to a Pilot LX up close and personal the other day and noticed that the shift indicator only showed 4 drive speeds? I thought the pilot had the same 5 speed auto xmission as the MDX? i also noticed other differences in that the pilot seemed significantly bigger inside especially in the back, also, both sides of the second row seats slide forward to access the thrid row, and there are grab bars with built in lights for the third row as well... |

The transmission is essentially identical, however as noted, you cannot select 4th gear as a "max" as you can with the MDX selector. Very minor detail, as both 4 & 5 are overdrive, with 4th being a bit lower, for a tad more power.
There are minor size differences as well, mostly due to shape or rear window. A few extra rolls of toiler paper if you go to Costco...
