Since this kazoo/pillar/resonating sound has been occuring on my X, I have sought this site for any firm answer to the problem. I have applied some of the seal/spine backing to the area specified by Dmor with minimal success. Haven't tried another solution, if one actually exists within the forum.

However, I have stumbled upon a solution that may actually be better than any application or modification that others have suggested. I have done alot of highway driving (25K this year), and have experienced this problem since month 1. Just wanted to post this for those of you seeking an alternative, short of pumping more musical decibels earward.

On a recent drive (at my usual highway speed), the song of the kazoo began serenading me, the wife, and the dog. The frustration of this got the best of me, and I decided to see if I could hear it with the window rolled down. Eureka!!! The sound disappeared upon lowering my window!

Now, I'm certainly not suggesting that you drive with your window down. But, it appears that a slight 'bump' of the window control, will loosen the seal enough to disperse the playing of the band. My experience was imminently more gratifying than the continued encore of the pillar, and the window maintained enough seal to ensure that the rain stayed outside on my return trip.

I'm sure this isn't the 'fix' many of you may have been expecting. Merely an alternative, but one that might work for you. :D
