MDX's Heated Seats - Click HERE for Original Thread

I just picked up my MDX the other day. So far I love it and wouldn't change a thing. I'm wondering if I can get some feed back from current owners of MDX's reguarding the heated front seats. Mine don't seem to have a lot of heat coming from them. I put them on high and I do feel heat, but not much. According to the owners manual, they turn on and off to keep a certain temp. They do that fine but don't ever get hot, only warm. The low range is almost un-noticable unless you put on the high range FIRST and then switch to low after it warms up. Is this normal? Do any other owners have heated seats that get fairly hot? Do they seem to work as mine do? Thanks, in advance, for your input. Bob
When set to high and the temperature in the MDX is in the 40s-50s after sitting all night in the garage, the driver's seat takes about a minute before I can feel any warmth. It never gets what I would call hot, and I suspect that's a design feature so the leather doesn't dry out. Regardless, I find myself turning the switch to the "off" position after the engine generates enough heat to warm up the interior based on the 68 degrees I have the auto temp control set at. I've never felt the need to set the seat heater switch to the "low" position.
Still waiting for my MDX to arrive.

But, I have the bun warmers on my Acura RL and would expect bun warmer on the MDX to be similar. On the RL, the high setting is great for taking the chill off, but can get too warm. When it is cold out, I'll set it on high to warm up and then set it to low to keep toasty.

Yes, you can feel them going off and on. In fact, I wish they would hold at a constant temp rather than off and on.

Bob,
I think it's normal for the MDX. I know what you are talking about because I used to have Audi A4 where you can set the level from 1 to 10. If you set it to 10 it was really hot. I still find it enough when I set it to high in MDX but it is different from other cars.
