Hello all:
Aside from meeting the emission standards for all 50 states, what exactly does the ULEV really mean? When looking at the emissions sticker on the window, I was a bit disappointed that the level of emission reduction really wasn't that impressive. Am I missing something? It sure seems like Acura is playing the ULEV thing for all its worth.
Thanks. |

| The way it was explained to me is that the SUV's and Light Duty Truck's emmissions are rated on a differtent scale than the cars. Granted the MDX is very clean for a SUV or light duty truck, but it is still not up to that of a ULEV car. That's why on the sticker the MDX shows being a ULEV but still rating below average for 2001 cars, which aren't necessarily ULEV cars. |

ULEV=

Also, both 2001 ML320 and X5 are ULEVs... not sure about RX300.
And, yes, ulev is a relative term for SUVs/light trucks which are far less stringent than
car standards (loop hole, which no one has a will to fix!)

| Sooooo, does anyone know how the MDX stacks up against the other ULEV SUVs? Seems like something our friends at the USEPA should provide have info on. |
