Is there a way to tell if the VTM-4 lock is engaged. When the car is turned on an orange light turns on next to the button to engage the lock but quickly turns off. Is there a light or something that am i am failing to see telling me the lick is on?
You can engage the VTM-4 in 1st, 2nd and reverse ONLY at a stand still.

The light in the VTM-4 button will go on.This means that the VTM-4 is engaged!

When the light goes off, VTM-4 has been disengaged automatically.

:D

To add:

The VTM-4 Lock will gradually decrease the amount of torque applied to the rear wheels. From 0 to 6 MPH the differential is indeed locked. From 6 to (approx) 18 MPH the proportion is decreased from 100% to 0.

The fact that the light goes on at start up is important- it tells you the light is working.

Check it out on gravel or snow
